Dr Heather Young is a consultant Sexual Health Physician working at the Christchurch Sexual Health Service. She has a Diploma of Public Health and is a member of the New Zealand Sexual Health Society. She is a Senior Clinical Lecturer for the University of Otago. Her interests lie in STI management guidelines, medical and consumer education.

Dr Hayley Denison is a Research Fellow at Massey University’s Centre for Public Health Research. Hayley is an epidemiologist who specialises in sexual health research. She is experienced in both quantitative and qualitative research and teaches research methods at a postgraduate level. Hayley completed her PhD at Victoria University of Wellington, which explored health-seeking behaviour for sexually transmitted infections. Hayley is passionately committed to providing people with access to accurate and evidenced-based information, so they can make informed decisions about their sexual health.

Alaina is a creative communications professional with over 15 years’ experience in traditional agency, inhouse and independent consulting roles. She pairs strategic thinking with pragmatic implementation to lead programmes in diverse markets including healthcare, technology, education and not-for-profit. With a consumer-centric focus, Alaina believes in the power of human-centred communication to raise awareness and education to enhance the wellbeing of those affected by STIs.

Rod Acevedo is a digital consultant and design strategist with over fifteen years of experience, prioritising and empathetic and human-centred approach. He specialises in unpacking and untangling complex challenges in industries like healthcare and consumer services. Furthermore, he passionately advocates for rainbow communities and consistently strives to incorporate inclusivity into all aspects of his work.

Shuari is pursuing her Master of Management, specialising in sustainability, after completing her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Crimonology at Victoria University. She founded Moraka Menstrual Cups and now works at Brothers and Sisters Collective. Passionate about destigmatising sexual health, Shuari has been recognised as a Y25 for 2021, a finalist for Women of Influence, and nominated for the Impact Awards and Girls in Business Award for sustainability. She received the Young Woman in Public Affairs award from Zonta International for her dedication to public service and community impact.

Jamie Martin (he/him) works as a Legal Educator at Community Law, and is passionate about ensuring people have access to the information they need to live good lives. He completed his legal studies at Canterbury University, and has a particular interest in helping make sexual health accessible for both young and queer people. He also works as a Prisoner Rights Advocate with the Howard League. His spare time is spent either at the beach or baking with Garden to Table.

Tessa Green (she/her) is a Nurse Practitioner working at The 502 Rangatahi Ora, which provides free primary health care, mental health and social services for 10-25 year olds in Porirua. First as a Registered Nurse, then qualifying with a Masters of Nursing Science from Victoria University of Wellington and Nurse Practitioner scope of practice in 2021, she has spent the last 10 years working across Youth Health and General Practice. Tessa is passionate about improving access to health services and information that is equitable, culturally competent and Te Tiriti led.
